“I’m Living Proof” Campaign

CHALLENGE: Once recognized as one of the top 100 heart hospitals in the nation, MetroSouth Medical Center saw a major drop in heart patients and a dip in cardiac service revenue compared to ten years prior.

The hospital CEO approached PS Medical Marketing to create a “cardiac comeback campaign.”

STRATEGY: In Year One, we rolled out “Know Your Numbers by Heart,” a campaign focused on the importance of knowing your vital health screening values. It included:

  • Free New Year’s Day comprehensive healthy heart exam “Wear Red” staff photo
  • Red Heart Dance Music Video: “Achy Breaky Heart”
  • TV segments
  • Local restaurant participation
  • $30 Comprehensive Healthy Heart Exam offering

RESULTS: This campaign generated close to three times the number of $30 heart exams over the year prior and resulted in $132,971.00 in additional revenue for the hospital.

Additionally, at least one open-heart surgery resulted from the Healthy Heart Exams, along with 16 others referred to cardiologists.

In Years Two and Three, we created similar campaigns featuring patient testimonial videos, celebrity appearances, media participation and referring physician events.
